Five hundred children put their coloring skills to work during the second annual Passavant Area Hospital Duck Race for Lifeline coloring contest.

The contest is in conjunction with the 22nd annual Duck Race for Lifeline, which will be May 22 at Nichols Park.

First-, second- and third-place awards and honorable mentions were given to winners in the pre-school, kindergarten and first grade divisions. Awards were based on creativity, originality, artistic style and developmental ability. Prizes included a ribbon plus $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third. Honorable mention winners earned a ribbon, duck umbrella and a Lifeline rubber duck.

All entries will be on display at the race. Prizes may be picked up from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The race will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and will be available until race time.
