CARLINVILLE — A would-be burglar nearly fought the law, but fortunately for the thief the law wasn’t home.
The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating what it said was the possible attempted theft of its canine officer Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s department, the deputy assigned to the canine determined someone had tried to take his animal partner, Mac.
Mac wasn’t being kept in its kennel at the time, however.
Authorities are investigating.
