Members of the cast of “The Diary of Anne Frank” rehearse April 4 at Playhouse on the Square in downtown Jacksonville. The play about what might be the most well-known diary in history tells of the author’s life as a Jewish girl in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam during World War II. “At its core … it’s timeless,” director Kim Shafer said of Anne’s story. “But it’s also very personal.” Performances continue at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Playhouse. Tickets, which are available at the door or in advance at Our Town Books, are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
