Spring rolls on toward another First Friday

Despite the recent rainy and cool weather, spring keeps rolling along, bringing us around again to another monthly First Friday in downtown Jacksonville.

Among the businesses participating in the event, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m., are:

Goldleaf Gallery, 225 E. State St., will feature a display of art by Carole Holt.

Taylor Mercantile, 228 S Mauvaisterre St., will feature music by the acoustic ensemble Fisher & Jewel.

Just Good Trade, 56 N. Central Park Plaza, will have music and refreshments.

Hockenhull’s, 206 E. State St.

The Quilted Cow Emporium, 60 S. Central Park Plaza, will display quilts with a “May Flowers” theme.

Warmowski Photography, 301 E. Court St., will display the photography of Mark Hirsch.

Illinois Theater, 204 N Mauvaisterre St.

Lincoln Land Community College, 32 N. Central Park Plaza, will display art by MarySue Farmer, Chelsea Watkins and Elizabeth King.

Central Park Dentistry, 53 S. Central Park Plaza, will have a fundraising party

The Soap Co. Coffee House, 66 E. Central Park Plaza, will feature art by Heather Davies-DeVoe.

Our Town Books, 64 E. Central Park Plaza, will feature music by Tim Chipman.

MarySue Farmer’s “Casa Rivera” will be among the art displayed Friday at Lincoln Land Community College’s Jacksonville campus as part of First Friday activities centered on the downtown square.
