A large tree was uprooted, split and blown over on the north side of Eisenhower Elementary School in Jacksonville during Wednesday night’s storm. No one was injured, and although parts of the tree came to rest against the building, school officials do not believe the building sustained any damage. Strong storms could return to the region today, with thunderstorms expected this afternoon and more severe thunderstorms likely tonight. Weather forecasters say storms tonight could bring heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds.
